Diese Position untersteht:

R&D Team Lead

In this role, you will have the opportunity to initiate and drive technology, software, product, and/or solution development using in-depth technical expertise in a specific area. Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D) for in-depth product or technology-related issues. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting strategic corporate technology management and future product/software/solution architecture.

This role is contributing to the Energy Industries Division in Switzerland.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Serve as the domain expert in power generation and industrial control system, translating operational needs into actionable technical guidance for the digital development team. Also, provide technical oversight on integration of third-party systems within our solution stack.
• Lead and facilitate daily stand-ups and other Agile ceremonies as Product Owner and Scrum Master as well as collaborate with the digital product manager and development team to define technical requirements and ensure alignment with strategic goals. Act as a bridge between developers and domain stakeholders, ensuring shared understanding and context.
• Develop and integrate secure software components and ensure cybersecurity best practices are followed across the product. Additionally, lead the integration of diverse systems and protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, REST APIs).
• Mentor developers in understanding industry-specific requirements and constraints (e.g., operation technology and domain specific topics).

Qualifications for this role:

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering, or a related field plus several years of working experience within the energy industry as well as 5+ years’ experience in the power generation domain (e.g., hydro, thermal, gas, renewable plants).
• Practical experience with industrial control systems, SCADA, PLC, or excitation systems. Also, previous experience as product owner or digital engineering team lead.
• Comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity principles and experience integrating secure systems as well as familiarity with digitalization initiatives and trends in the energy sector.
• Proven ability to work in agile development environments and facilitate team collaboration.
• Previous exposure to deployment of digital solutions in the field and experience with OT and IoT communication protocols (Modbus TCP, OPC UA, MQTT, AMQP)
• Previous experience with programming (e.g., Python, Java, .NET, or equivalent) and familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Effective communication skills with the ability to act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Fluent in English; other languages are appreciated.
