Job Title: Product Development Leader

Base:Global (Singapore, Germany, Switzerland, China)

Job Responsibilities:

1.Product Definition & Market Analysis

  • Participate in technical analysis of target markets, customer needs, and competitive landscape to evaluate product technical requirements.
  • Formulate detailed product technical specifications under the guidance of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and align with business objectives.
  • Systematically position products and develop proposals leveraging existing company capabilities or product platforms to support PLM/PM in business decision-making.

2.Product Development & Management

  • Define product development technical objectives, milestones, and volume production plans based on business and technical requirements.
  • Lead end-to-end product development, including design, testing, and sample delivery, ensuring alignment with quality and timeline targets.
  • Collaborate closely with Program Managers and Manufacturing/Process Engineering teams to drive product design, pilot production, and transition to mass production.
  • Monitor product development progress, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with technical and quality standards until successful handover to production.

3.Pre-Sales & Post-Sales Technical Support

  • Analyze customer needs in coordination with PLM and Sales teams, conduct technical feasibility assessments, and provide solution proposals with delivery plans.
  • Engage directly in customer technical discussions when required, ensuring accurate understanding of requirements and resolving product-related challenges.
  • Support the sales team in pre-sales activities by addressing technical inquiries and demonstrating product capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues encountered by customers during product use, ensuring high satisfaction before and during volume production.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical, Engineering, Industrial Design, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in product development, MLA or automotive lighting development related experience is plus.
  • Proven track record of delivering products from concept to mass production, preferably in automotive industry.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Optical product design tools, testing protocols, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong ability to customer needs into technical specifications and actionable development plans.

Soft Skills & Competencies:

  • Leadership: Ability to motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and drive projects under tight deadlines.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal/written skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders (Sales, Customers, Executives).
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset to troubleshoot technical challenges and propose data-driven solutions.
  • Customer-Centric: Passion for understanding and addressing customer pain points pre- and post-sales.
