You will lead category strategy, supplier governance and large-scale IT transformation initiatives, driving value through optimisation, cloud adoption and strategic vendor partnerships.

Qualifikationen

Our client (finance), is strengthening its Technology Procurement team and is looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to support the transformation of its IT procurement function.

This is a permanent position (recruitment).

This is not a traditional sourcing role focused solely on negotiations and contract management.

The organisation is embarking on a major transformation of its technology landscape, with a strong focus on software, enterprise applications, supplier optimisation, category management and cloud adoption.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping procurement strategies, influencing senior stakeholders, rationalising complex application portfolios and developing strategic partnerships with critical technology vendors.

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolution of a procurement function moving towards a best‑in‑class Category Management model.

Your Responsabilities

Reporting to the CPO and joining a growing Technology Procurement team, you will be responsible for defining and executing procurement strategies across a portfolio of enterprise software and business applications. You will work closely with senior IT, Digital and Business leaders to ensure procurement is involved early in strategic discussions and technology roadmaps.

Your objective will be to maximise value creation through supplier consolidation, application rationalisation, commercial optimisation and improved supplier governance.

Category Strategy & Transformation

• Develop and execute category strategies across enterprise applications and software solutions.
• Analyse supplier markets, technology trends and internal demand to identify optimisation opportunities.
• Drive spend analysis, supplier mapping and procurement planning activities.
• Establish category management best practices and contribute to the maturity of the procurement organisation.
• Build procurement roadmaps aligned with business and technology priorities.
• Assess large software portfolios and identify rationalisation opportunities.
• Challenge business requirements and existing technology landscapes.
• Support software modernisation and cloud migration programmes.
• Identify opportunities to consolidate suppliers and increase purchasing leverage.
• Contribute to make/buy and sourcing decisions for strategic technology initiatives.

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

• Lead sourcing initiatives, RFI/RFP processes and supplier selection projects.
• Define negotiation strategies and lead complex commercial and contractual negotiations.
• Optimise software licensing models, support renewals and improve contractual terms.
• Develop strategic relationships with key software vendors and technology partners.
• Strengthen supplier governance frameworks and performance management processes.

Stakeholder & Change Management

• Partner with senior IT and business stakeholders.
• Influence decision‑making in highly technical environments.
• Support organisational change linked to supplier transitions, software transformations and cloud adoption initiatives.
• Position procurement as a strategic business partner rather than a transactional function.

Procurement Function Development

As a member of the Procurement Leadership community, you will also contribute to:

• Process improvements.
• Contracting standards and governance frameworks.
• Procurement tools and methodologies.
• Development of category management capabilities across the organisation.

About You

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Strategic Procurement, Category Management or Strategic Sourcing
• Significant experience managing software, applications, SaaS or enterprise technology categories
• Proven track record of building and implementing category strategies
• Experience leading large‑scale IT transformation programmes, application rationalisation initiatives or cloud migration projects
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior business and technology stakeholders
• Experience within complex international organisations

Technical Expertise

Strong knowledge of one or several of the following areas:
