Proton is seeking an engineer to join our Geneva or Zürich browser team, building a privacy-first browser used by millions. You will work on core components, integrate security updates, and collaborate with product and design for a high‑quality experience.

You will contribute to cross‑platform builds and leverage C++ expertise in a fast‑moving, open‑source‑leaning environment. Privacy and performance are priorities as we ship features at scale.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience building or maintaining a Chromium-based browser or contributing to browser engineering at scale.
• Proficiency in C++ and navigating large codebases like Chromium's Blink, V8, network stack, and sandboxing.
• Familiarity with Chromium's build system and cross‑platform builds (macOS, Windows, Linux).
• Experience with privacy or security hardening, anti‑fingerprinting, content blocking, or reducing telemetry.
• Strong focus on product quality, performance and fast, distraction‑free user experience.
• Solid knowledge of web standards and security for browser shipping; open source exposure is a plus.
• Rust experience is a plus for platform‑independent components.
