Zusammenfassung

Proton Foundation Team is seeking an experienced backend engineer to design and build shared libraries and internal services across Proton products. You will own end-to-end libraries, set architectural boundaries in a large monorepo, and ensure secure, scalable APIs.

You will work in PHP for API related work and Rust where performance and memory safety matter, collaborating with product teams across Geneva and other offices.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years building and operating backend systems in production, with a focus on modern PHP
• Knowledge of Rust or ability to learn quickly; understanding ownership and lifetimes

• Design and build shared libraries, framework layers, and internal services
• Turn recurring patterns into good abstractions
• Write documentation and examples used by developers
• Improve development workflows, build times, and tooling
• Work with product teams via RFCs and design reviews
• Collaborate with other developers to integrate libraries into apps
