Job summary

Syngenta Group is seeking a Ph.D. level organic chemist to lead and contribute to research projects at the R&D Center in Stein AG, Switzerland.

You will identify and optimize novel bioactive ingredients for crop protection, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams globally to drive sustainable solutions. You will advance SAR analyses, apply synthetic organic chemistry expertise, and drive multi‑parameter optimization toward project milestones.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry; postdoctoral or industry experience is an advantage.
• Deep expertise in synthetic organic chemistry with direct application to bioactive small molecule research.
• Strong collaboration and leadership within multidisciplinary, matrix environments.
• Innovative mindset with proactive adoption of new technologies.
• Excellent English communication across technical and non‑technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to research projects identifying and optimizing bioactive ingredients for crop protection.
• Collaborate with local and global teams to drive sustainable crop protection solutions.
• Advance project delivery through molecular design, physical organic chemistry and SAR analysis.
