Medical Evidence Practice team (MEP)

The Role

As a Principal within the MEP team, you will take on a variety of roles within the following core areas: business development, client relationship building, project leadership, team development.

The role requires an inquisitive, consulting mindset to develop new opportunities, alongside a customer-first mentality to grow long-term partnerships with headquarters clients. Working closely with account sales and other go-to-market teams, you will engage with senior client stakeholders to identify their needs and develop custom solutions across the real-world evidence and medical affairs space. The role has responsibility for ensuring oversight and delivery of high levels of client satisfaction for continued opportunity exploration and account revenue growth.

Responsibilities

1. Meet or exceed assigned sales targets by consulting with clients to fully understand their needs and taking the lead role in proposal development.
2. Build client intimacy with senior leaders at key accounts to drive real-world evidence opportunities, as well as identify opportunities for the broader IQVIA business.
3. Serve as the MEP expert for key accounts; collaborate closely across real-world and commercial teams to ensure a coordinated, proactive go-to-market approach.
4. Act as principal-in-charge on client engagements, leading teams of RWS professionals in the design, development and delivery of complex real-world products.
5. Take ultimate responsibility for client satisfaction and ensuring high quality delivery / added value that meets or exceeds client expectations.
6. Mentor and coach junior employees to support continuous professional development – both on-projects and as part of formal coaching program.
7. Take a leadership role on internal initiatives in Switzerland or at Global level e.g., recruitment, wellbeing, employee resource groups.

Expertise and Thought Leadership

1. Contribute to the enhanced awareness of IQVIA real-world and medical affairs activities in the marketplace (e.g., through meetings, speaking engagements, publications etc).
2. Build and maintain external stakeholder relationships to promote IQVIA market positioning, access to data and relationships with key influencing groups.
3. Expand capabilities and capacity in patient data assets and networks, healthcare intelligence tools and commercial and scientific services.

Desired Skills and Experience

1. Minimum 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with expertise in real-world evidence, medical affairs, HEOR or market access.
2. Significant part of previous experience gained in consulting / professional services.
3. Strong interest in developing and delivering innovative solutions across the evidence lifecycle (strategy – execution – dissemination).
4. Proven success in selling complex studies and/or strategic engagements to HQ / Global level.
5. A track record in building client relationships, ideally including experience of account strategy.
6. Commercial awareness, including experience in balancing scope management and client relationship to ensure commercial objectives are met.
7. Strong analytical problem-solving skills and a solution-orientated mindset.
8. Proven ability to advance ambiguous or conceptual ideas to decision points, while engaging multiple stakeholders, internal and clients.
9. Experience in managing virtual teams and enabling individuals to perform, grow and deliver client work to high-quality and standards.
10. Excellent interpersonal and networking skills. Values people’s opinions and encourages knowledge sharing.
11. Previous experience in coaching junior team-members, ideally in a formal coaching role.
12. Offerings’ development experience – familiarity with accepted innovations models e.g., open innovation, ideation, product platforming, immersion or similar would be beneficial.
13. Leadership experience in complex organizations with demonstrated results in aligning people without formal reporting relationships.
