Job summary

u-blox AG in Switzerland seeks an experienced engineer to design and optimize GNSS, navigation, and multi-sensor fusion algorithms for embedded positioning products. You will implement production-quality C/C++ software, analyze real-world performance, and drive tests and documentation.

You will contribute across the full development lifecycle, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and advance algorithmic research toward robust, market-ready solutions in automotive, robotics, and autonomous

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related field.
• 7+ years in GNSS/INS navigation solutions, multi-sensor fusion, or related positioning tech.
• Strong GNSS fundamentals: measurement processing, estimation, statistics, performance analysis.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with CI/CD, version control, code review processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; data-driven validation and testing (SIL/HIL).
• Familiarity with agile software development practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork; fluent in English.
• Experience algorithms for automotive/autonomous systems/robotics/precision navigation.
• Knowledge of PPP, RTK, carrier-phase processing, and ambiguity resolution.
• Embedded systems and real-time software experience.
• Familiarity with ML techniques in navigation.
• Patent portfolio or publications in navigation fields.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance GNSS, navigation, and multi-sensor fusion algorithms for embedded positioning products.
• Contribute across requirements, feature definition, implementation, validation, and release.
• Implement concepts in production-quality C/C++ software.
• Analyze navigation performance and real-world scenarios.
• Develop and maintain automated Python test solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for blocks and features.
• Investigate defects and customer issues; develop fixes and workarounds.
• Collaborate on planning, technical discussions, and roadmaps.
