Job summary

Actalent in Basel seeks a Principal Project Manager to lead medical device and pharmaceutical development programs, including combination products. You will drive strategic plans, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure design-control compliance in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 8–11 years in the industry, proficiency with MS Project/Smartsheet/Google, and strong communication skills. Fluency in English is required; travel within Switzerland is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 8–11 years of experience with at least 5 years in medical device/pharma.
• Experience in drug/medical device development and commercialization, especially combination products.
• Proficiency with PM software (MS Project, Smartsheet, Google Suite).
• Knowledge of 21 CFR 820.30 design controls.
• PMP is an asset.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Fluent English; German/Japanese/Danish an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Translate device strategy into actionable PM plans.
• Drive team activities to meet project and design control deliverables.
• Maintain milestones and link to Device Team plan.
• Apply PM best practices and use planning, budgeting, and risk-management tools.
• Develop and update Design & Development Plans with contingency plans.
• Communicate progress and risks to stakeholders.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration and decision-making.
• Manage project scope changes; forecast resources and costs.
