Job summary

Sportlux in Mendrisio is seeking a creative Womenswear Designer to lead end-to-end design and development of seasonal collections across premium brands. You will translate trends into market-ready products while ensuring exceptional quality and execution.

Collaborating with Head of Design and cross-functional teams, you will drive mood boards, fabric stories, and silhouette concepts, and oversee CADs, fittings, and production samples. International travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Textile Design, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in womenswear design within premium, contemporary, or international fashion brands.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrication, and technical product development.
• Hands-on experience managing the complete product development lifecycle from concept to production.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office; experience with PLM or CAD systems is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop seasonal womenswear collections across multiple product categories.
• Research global fashion trends, consumer insights, competitor activity, and market developments to create innovative and commercially relevant collections.
• Develop seasonal mood boards, colour palettes, fabric stories, print direction, and silhouette concepts.
• Ensure all collections reflect the DNA, positioning, and creative vision of the assigned luxury and premium brands.
• Own the complete product development process from concept through to final production approval.
• Prepare CADs, technical sketches, specifications, BOMs, and tech packs for development.
• Collaborate with pattern makers, garment technicians, and suppliers to maintain design intent.
• Review prototypes, fit samples, salesman samples, and production samples with detailed feedback.
• Travel for supplier and factory visits as needed.
