Jobbeschreibung

Introduction

UNIL is a leading international teaching and research institution, with over 5,000 employees and 17,000 students split between its Dorigny campus, CHUV and Epalinges. As an employer, UNIL encourages excellence, individual recognition and responsibility.

Presentation

A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Christian Widmann at the Department of Biomedical Sciences (DSB) of the University of Lausanne. Our group investigates the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the uptake of cell-penetrating peptides (CPPs) and physiological proteins carrying CPP sequences, such as homeoproteins.
We have recently uncovered a new endocytic pathway relying on the Rab14 protein (https://www.cell.com/action/showPdf?pii=S2211-1247%2821%2901418-2). A major focus of our research is now to characterize the Rab14-dependent trafficking pathway and to determine how these molecules escape from endosomes when endocytosis is used as the entry route. Our recent findings and ongoing projects provide exciting opportunities for the successful candidate to contribute to our understanding of these fundamental cellular processes.
