Zusammenfassung

ETH Zürich seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher or Process Engineer to advance MacEtch-based fabrication for next‑gen X-ray optical components. You will expand testing, investigate defect formation, and optimize parameters within a multidisciplinary team at the X-ray Imaging Professorship, collaborating with industry partners and PSI.

You will fabricate on 4-inch wafers, perform SEM/profilometry, document results, and contribute to high‑impact publications and conferences.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Experience in semiconductor cleanroom environments and photolithography.
• Hands-on MEMS fabrication knowledge and silicon etching experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel within Europe (up to 20%).

Aufgaben

• Expand and enhance MacEtch testing across feature sizes and aspect ratios.
• Investigate defect formation, optimise parameters, assess scalability.
• Develop robust fabrication processes for complex silicon microstructures.
• Fabricate and process samples on 4-inch silicon wafers using MacEtch and related steps.
• Document procedures and results; contribute to technical reports and publications.
• Present research outcomes at conferences and internal workshops.
