Job summary

Universität Basel’s Blood Cancer Biology and Immunotherapy group seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to study how cellular metabolism shapes leukemia persistence, immune evasion, and anti-leukemia immunity.

Start date is 1 February 2027 or upon agreement. The project is funded by an ERC Starting Grant LIFE, with a 1-year duration and potential extension and long-term prospects, in an interactive Basel research environment.

Qualifications

• PhD in cancer biology, immunology, or a closely related field.
• Strong conceptual and experimental background in tumor biology and/or immunology.
• Extensive hands-on experience with in vivo mouse tumor models, ideally in hematological cancers.
• Experience with spectral flow cytometry and basic molecular biology techniques.
• A track record of independent design and execution of experiments.

Responsibilities

• Design, perform, and interpret mechanistic experiments including in vivo studies.
• Establish and adapt experimental approaches as required.
• Analyze and present scientific data; contribute to manuscripts and grants.
• Develop collaborative projects and mentor students.
• Engage in scientific meetings to communicate findings.
