Job summary

University of Basel is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher (100%) in Basel to investigate how cellular metabolism shapes leukemia persistence, immune evasion, and anti-leukemia immunity within an ERC LIFE project. The Apostolova Lab offers state-of-the-art infrastructure for multi-omics, flow cytometry, and in vivo models, with extensive collaboration opportunities.

Qualifications

• PhD in cancer biology, immunology, molecular biology, hematology or related field.
• Strong background in tumor biology or immunology.
• Hands-on experience with in vivo mouse tumor models, ideally in hematological cancers.
• Extensive experience with flow cytometry and molecular biology.
• Proven research track record with high-quality first-author publication.
• Ability to independently design, execute and interpret mechanistic experiments.
• Excellent English communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience in leukemia research, tumor immunology, metabolism, CRISPR screening, or histology is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, perform, and interpret mechanistic experiments, including in vivo studies.
• Establish and adapt experimental approaches as required.
• Analyze and present scientific data.
• Develop collaborative projects.
• Mentor PhD and MSc students.
• Contribute to manuscripts, meetings, and grant applications.
