ETH Zurich's Professorship of Solid Mechanics (SMEC) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher with a strong experimental background. The successful candidate will develop quantitative experiments and imaging-based methods to characterize complex fracture behavior.

Qualifikationen
- PhD in mechanics, engineering, physics, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in mechanical testing and experimental work.
- Experience with optical measurement techniques and quantitative analysis.
- Ability to communicate in English and collaborate across disciplines.
Aufgaben
- Lead experimental research on fracture mechanics of advanced and soft materials using imaging techniques.
- Apply image-based methods to quantify displacement, strain, and fracture energy.
- Develop optical methods to characterize interfacial contact and deformation.
- Collaborate with numerical modelers and theorists and supervise junior researchers.
