Job summary

Roche is seeking a PSI Intern at the Basel Global Headquarters. You will contribute to cross-functional portfolio strategy and insights projects, with dedicated mentorship and exposure to Roche’s pipeline and analytics. Start date 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible, for up to 12 months, full-time.

You will support data-driven analysis, coordinate with leadership teams, and develop materials for strategic decision-making in a dynamic pharmaceutical environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s, MBA, or PhD program in a quantitative field.
• Demonstrated analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and proactivity in multi-task environments.
• Interest in pharmaceuticals and strategy, insights, and operations.
• Proficient in data handling and presentation tools.

The Position Portfolio Strategy & Insights (PSI), part of Global Product Strategy (GPS), brings together expertise in portfolio strategy, market research, competitive intelligence, analytics and business insights to support strategic and portfolio decision making across Roche.

As a PSI Intern, you will contribute to project-based work across PSI, gaining hands‑on experience in how a global organization uses insights, data and effective business operations to support decision making. You will receive dedicated mentorship and guidance, while gaining exposure to different areas of PSI and a broader understanding of Roche’s pipeline, portfolio and pharmaceutical strategy.

The Opportunity

Your work could include:

• Insights & Analysis: Support analysis of portfolio, market, competitive or business information by bringing together data, identifying patterns and summarizing key findings.
• Strategic & Portfolio Support: Contribute to portfolio reviews, prioritization, planning and other strategic projects through research, analysis and preparation of materials.
• Business Operations & Leadership Support: Help a PSI leadership team or project team operate effectively by coordinating agendas and meetings, preparing materials, tracking actions and helping maintain momentum across priorities.
• Project Coordination: Support cross-functional initiatives by organizing work, connecting inputs across stakeholders, tracking progress and helping teams move from discussion to action.
• Data, Digital & AI: Apply analytics, visualization, AI and emerging tools to make information easier to use and improve how teams work.
• Communication & Storytelling: Turn analysis and project updates into clear, concise presentations and communications for different audiences.

Who You Are

Education: Currently enrolled in a Master’s, MBA, or PhD program, or recently graduated (within 12 months) from a Master’s or MBA program in Business, Life Sciences, Data Science, Analytics, Economics, or a related quantitative or scientific field.

Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and a genuine curiosity to understand complex systems and processes.

Organization & Proactivity: Detail-oriented and proactive approach to managing multiple tasks and following through on commitments.

Industry Interest: Passion for the pharmaceutical industry and how strategy, insights, and business operations intersect.

Data & Tools: Comfortable working with data and spreadsheets; experience with Excel/Google Sheets, analytics, or visualization tools is a plus.

Communication: Excellent written and spoken English with strong presentation skills (PowerPoint and Google Slides).

Mindset: Collaborative, agile learner ready to contribute to both high-level strategy and hands‑on execution.

Experience: Prior experience in consulting, pharmaceuticals, analytics, or strategy is an advantage, but not required.

Start Date: 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible

Duration: up to 12 months (Full-time).

Location: Roche Global Headquarters, Basel.

Requirement for Non-EU/EFTA

You must provide confirmation from your university that this is a compulsory internship and remain enrolled for the duration.

The internship is not suitable for writing a Bachelor or Master thesis.
