Job summary

Roche/Genentech seeks a Portfolio Leader to partner with the Head of PSM and drive strategy, planning, and operations for a transformative Pharma portfolio. You will lead cross-portfolio initiatives, shape portfolio dynamics, and align teams to deliver impactful outcomes.

You will partner with senior leaders to translate strategic vision into priorities, overseeing ecosystem health, agile planning, and governance across PSM and related functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years’ experience in operations, strategy and/or R&D within biopharma.
• Experience in strategy development and linking strategy to tactics.
• Structured problem-solving and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to frame ambiguous questions, synthesize information and develop clear, practical recommendations.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to set priorities, manage milestones and dependencies, and deliver special projects.
• Strong understanding of the drug development lifecycle.
• Experience in cross-portfolio strategy or portfolio management, including assessing portfolio dynamics, strategic options and prioritization trade-offs.
• Strong analytical acumen, with the ability to interpret portfolio-level risk/value assessments, business cases, metrics and benchmarks and turn them into actionable recommendations.
• Demonstrated experience as a strategic thought partner to senior leaders and teams, with a track record of driving change and innovation.
• Extensive strategic planning, stakeholder management, and operational execution expertise, including leading multiple complex, cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Partner with the Head of PSM and LT to realize the strategic vision for PSM, and translating vision into actionable priorities.
• Architect PSM ecosystem and ensure culture, communications, and operational frameworks drive success; plan and facilitate PSM LT and All Staff meetings with agile practices.
• Build and manage systems to match team skills and interests to high-impact business needs, in support of PSM priorities.
• Operationalize strategic priorities while championing a connected team culture of learning and adaptability.
• Represent PSM on Product Development workstreams and maintain a strong Portfolio network with gRED, pRED, and GPS.
• Lead cross-portfolio initiatives and special projects; structure questions, synthesize evidence and stakeholder perspectives into clear recommendations.
• Assess and communicate portfolio dynamics; synthesize analyses into executive-ready insights and recommendations.
• Frame portfolio-level choices; shape decision pathways and prioritization approaches for timely decisions.
