Position Overview:

To support the development of customized automation solutions for industrial clients, we are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer with strong expertise in PLC programming for special-purpose machinery. You will be responsible for the full automation scope: from functional definition and software development to testing, commissioning, and support for qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

Upstream Phase – Requirement Analysis & Specification

• Understand customer needs and contribute to the functional definition of the machine
• Prepare technical and regulatory documentation in line with GMP standards:
• Automation Concept
• Machine Configuration
• Functional Matrix
• Alarm Matrix

Development Phase – PLC Programming & Integration

• Program PLCs based on approved specifications
• Use Siemens platforms (TIA Portal / Step7, or other i.e. Zenon)
• Customize automation software to meet client-specific requirements
• Collaborate on IO testing and commissioning activities

Testing & Validation Phase

• Actively participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
• Perform fine tuning and ensure technical adjustments post-commissioning
• Provide support for system qualification, including GMP compliance

Profile:

• Degree in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics or similar
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in PLC programming for special machinery
• Proficient in Siemens platforms (Xenon highly preferred; TIA Portal, Step7 also relevant)
• Familiarity with Rockwell / Allen Bradley systems is a plus
• Understanding of GMP environments (experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a strong asset)
• Analytical mindset, detail-oriented, able to manage full project automation scope independently
• Fluent in English (mandatory); French and/or German are strong assets
