Zusammenfassung

ETH Zurich invites applications for a Doctoral Student to study how climate and hydrological extremes affect water quality. The position is hosted by the Institute for Atmospheric and Climate Science at ETH Zurich and the WSL-SLF, and forms part of the SNSF-funded NCCR CLIM+ programme.

The PhD combines data-driven modeling, analysis of large climate/hydrology datasets and dissemination in scientific journals and conferences, under joint supervision in an interdisciplinary, international team.

Qualifikationen

  • MSc degree in hydrology, climate sciences, environmental sciences, or a closely related field.
  • Strong hydrological process knowledge.
  • Experience in statistical and/or data-driven modeling.
  • Strong programming skills (ideally Python and/or R).
  • Experience handling large datasets (hydrological/meteo/climate).
  • Very good English written and spoken communication; local language is a plus.

Aufgaben

  • Study the effect of climate and hydrological extremes on water quality.
  • Develop data-driven models to predict water quality under climate change.
  • Publish results in scientific journals and present at conferences.
