Zusammenfassung

ETH Zürich invites applications for a Doctoral Student on impacts of climate and hydrological extremes on water quality. Hosted by the Institute for Atmospheric and Climate Science at ETH Zürich and the WSL-Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF, the PhD is part of the NCCR CLIM+ programme funded by the SNSF.

The project aims to study climate and hydrological extremes and develop data-driven models to predict water quality under climate change, with results published in journals and

Qualifikationen

  • MSc in hydrology, climate sciences, environmental sciences or related field.
  • Strong hydrological process knowledge.
  • Experience in statistical and/or data-driven modeling.
  • Proficient in Python and/or R.
  • Experience with large datasets (hydrological, meteorological, climate observations/simulations).
  • Very good English written and spoken; knowledge of an additional national language is a plus.
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and international team.

Aufgaben

  • Study the effect of climate and hydrological extremes on water quality.
  • Develop data-driven models to predict water quality under climate change.
  • Publish results in scientific journals and present at national and international conferences.
