ETH Zurich invites applications for a Doctoral Student position in machine learning and medical data science in the Medical Data Science Group led by Prof. Julia Vogt.

The role integrates ML with healthcare applications, with opportunities to work on representation learning, foundation models, explainability, time-series, and multimodal learning. You will conduct independent research, publish results, and collaborate with colleagues from technical and medical disciplines.

Formación

• Master's degree in computer science, machine learning, statistics, applied mathematics, or a closely related field.
• Strong foundations in mathematics, statistics, and machine learning, with solid programming skills in Python.
• Interest in both foundational ML research and applications in medicine/healthcare.
• Curiosity, creativity, and ability to tackle challenging research questions independently.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct independent research on novel ML/AI methods focused on medical/healthcare applications.
• Design, implement, and evaluate ML models and experiments with rigorous, reproducible methods.
• Publish and present findings at conferences and in journals; develop your doctoral thesis.
• Collaborate with technical and medical experts and participate in group activities and seminars.
• Support teaching activities and supervision of student projects.
