Job summary

The University of Zurich is offering a scientist position at the interface of developmental biology, genomics, and data science. You will work with single-cell and spatial data, integrating molecular and clinical information to drive discoveries in kidney disease.

We seek a PhD holder with strong R/Python skills, experience in high-dimensional data, and an interest in machine learning. The role spans 80–100%, located at the University of Zurich, with a one-year contract starting soon.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in a relevant field required.
• Strong programming skills in R and/or Python required.
• Experience with high-dimensional biological/clinical data preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze single-cell and spatial transcriptomic datasets.
• Integrate molecular, spatial, histological and clinical data.
• Establish and manage large-scale clinical research databases with quality control.
• Perform statistical analysis of clinical cohorts and disease progression.
• Develop and apply machine-learning and predictive modelling approaches.
• Integrate molecular and clinical data to identify biomarkers.
• Develop reproducible computational workflows and contribute to study design.
• Present and publish results with collaboration from clinicians and researchers.
