ETH Zurich invites applications for a Doctoral Student in the Medical Data Science Group to advance machine learning methods for healthcare. You will design and evaluate ML models, publish findings, and contribute to teaching and supervision of projects.

The position offers access to top-tier computing infrastructure, international collaboration, and a chance to shape a doctoral thesis at the intersection of ML and medicine.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, machine learning, statistics, applied mathematics, or a closely related technical field.
• Strong foundations in mathematics, statistics, and machine learning, with solid programming skills (Python).
• Strong interest in foundational ML research and applications in medicine/healthcare.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills in English.

Responsabilités

• Conduct independent research on novel ML/AI methods for medical applications.
• Design, implement, and rigorously evaluate ML models and experiments.
• Publish and present findings at conferences and in journals; develop your doctoral thesis.
• Collaborate with experts from technical and medical disciplines and participate in seminars.
