Job summary

ETH Zurich, in collaboration with the WSL-Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF, invites applications for a Doctoral Student on impacts of climate and hydrological extremes on water quality. The position is hosted within the NCCR CLIM+ programme.

You will study heatwaves, droughts and floods and develop data-driven models to predict water quality under climate change, publish in journals, and present at conferences.

Qualifications

• MSc in hydrology, climate sciences, environmental sciences, or closely related field.
• Strong hydrological process knowledge.
• Experience in statistical and/or data-driven modeling.
• Strong programming skills (Python and/or R).
• Experience working with large datasets (hydrological, meteorological or climate observations/simulations).
• Very good oral and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Study the effect of climate and hydrological extremes on water quality.
• Develop data-driven models to predict water quality under climate change.
• Publish results in scientific journals and present at conferences.
