Job summary

Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research WSL invites applications for a Postdoc on the risks of riverine heatwaves in Davos. You will study impacts on fish and energy production under climate change, publish in journals, and present at conferences, collaborating with ETH Zurich.

We seek a PhD in hydrology or related fields, strong skills in R or Python, statistics, data science, and excellent English communication in an interdisciplinary context.

Qualifications

• PhD in hydrology, environmental sciences, climate sciences, or a closely related field.
• Strong programming skills in R or Python.
• Solid background in statistics and data science.
• Excellent English communication and writing skills; cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Publish results in scientific journals and present at international conferences.
• Assess risks of riverine heatwaves for fish populations and energy production under current and future climate conditions.
• Collaborate with SLF and ETH Zurich researchers and work in Davos, contributing to the RiHeat project.
