Reboot Monkey in Gland, Switzerland is seeking a Data Center Technician for freelance/contract work on-site to support critical data center infrastructure. You will install, decommission, and migrate hardware, handle copper and fiber cabling, rack servers, and execute cross-connects while documenting work and coordinating with the remote NOC.

Candidates should have 2+ years in data center or IT infra, strong cabling and hardware experience, English communication, and relevant DCIM/ticketing

Qualifikationen

• 2+ years data center or IT infrastructure experience.
• Strong cabling skills (Cat5e/6/6a, single-mode/multi-mode fiber).
• Experience with server hardware (Dell, HP, Supermicro).
• Professional communication skills in English.
• Data center certifications (CDCP, CDCS, or similar) - preferred.
• Network certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+) - preferred.
• Experience with DCIM and ticketing systems - preferred.
• Familiarity with major colocation providers - preferred.

Aufgaben

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations.
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Conduct server racking, stacking, and labeling.
• Perform cross-connects and patch panel work.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues.
• Document all work with photos and detailed notes.
• Coordinate with remote NOC and client teams.
