Balyasny Asset Management is seeking an exceptional Analyst to join its Oil portfolio team in Switzerland, with flexibility for Geneva or Zug. You will apply quantitative analysis to energy markets, generate trade ideas, and build models to inform investment decisions.

The role requires strong Python/SQL/Excel skills, 5–7 years of experience in a relevant field, and a solid understanding of physical oil markets.

Qualifikationen

• 5–7 years of experience in a relevant quantitative role.
• Degree in economics, finance, engineering, maths, or related quantitative discipline.
• Relevant experience in oil, including fuel oil and crude.
• Strong understanding of physical oil markets and derivatives.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL and Excel.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and commercial judgement.
• Based in Geneva or Zug.

Aufgaben

• Build and maintain oil supply-and-demand balances.
• Analyse refinery runs, inventories, vessel movements, arbitrage economics, weather, power demand, and macro drivers.
• Develop trade views across cracks, time spreads, geographical spreads, crude spreads, and flat price.
• Build and enhance Python, SQL, and Excel models, dashboards, and trading signals.
• Monitor P&L, positions, exposures, and daily risk.
• Produce concise market commentary and communicate trade ideas clearly.
