Ampersand World SA is seeking an experienced Oil Products Trader to join its Geneva trading team. The role focuses on developing and managing physical oil trading activities across refined products, originating opportunities and overseeing end-to-end trades with robust risk oversight.

You will negotiate terms, monitor market dynamics and coordinate with Risk, Operations and Compliance to ensure disciplined execution in a fast-moving, international environment.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience in physical oil products trading
• Strong knowledge of refined petroleum products
• Ability to originate, negotiate and execute physical transactions
• Understanding of pricing mechanisms and trading economics
• Experience managing trading positions, P&L and market risk
• Knowledge of derivatives and hedging instruments used in oil markets
• Established network of commercial counterparties is an advantage
• Fluent in English and French
• Based in Geneva or willing to relocate to the Geneva area

• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing structures, volumes, delivery conditions and contractual terms
• Monitor supply and demand fundamentals, refinery developments, inventories, trade flows, freight and market dynamics
• Manage trading positions, margins and market exposure in coordination with Risk and Middle Office teams
• Use derivatives and hedging instruments to manage price exposure where appropriate
• Coordinate closely with Operations, Chartering, Finance, Credit, Legal and Compliance throughout the trade lifecycle
• Contribute to the development of new customers, supply sources and trading flows
• Ensure disciplined risk management and compliance with internal trading limits and procedures

For one of our clients, an international commodities trading company active across global energy markets, we are recruiting an experienced Oil Products Trader to join its trading team in Geneva.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing physical oil products trading activities, originating commercial opportunities and managing transactions from market analysis and negotiation through execution and risk management.

Your mission:

• Develop and manage physical trading activities across refined oil products
• Identify, originate and execute profitable trading opportunities across international markets
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, brokers and other market participants
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing structures, volumes, delivery conditions and contractual terms
• Monitor supply and demand fundamentals, refinery developments, inventories, trade flows, freight and market dynamics

Your profile:

• Proven experience in physical oil products trading within a trading company, oil major, refiner or similar environment
• Strong knowledge of refined petroleum products and international physical trading markets
• Demonstrated ability to originate, negotiate and execute physical transactions
• Good understanding of pricing mechanisms, physical arbitrage, logistics, freight and trading economics
• Experience managing trading positions, P&L and market risk
• Good understanding of derivatives and hedging instruments used in oil markets
• Established network of commercial counterparties is a strong advantage
• Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills and entrepreneurial mindset
• Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-moving international trading environment
• Fluent in English and French mandatory
• Based in Geneva or willing to relocate to the Geneva area
