Balyasny (Switzerland) Sàrl is seeking an Oil Analyst to join its Switzerland-based oil portfolio team, open to Geneva or Zug. You will perform fundamental analysis, quantitative modelling, and risk monitoring to generate actionable views across oil markets.

Key responsibilities include building supply-demand balances, refining and trade views, and developing Python, SQL, and Excel models and dashboards to support trading decisions while monitoring P&L and exposures in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in economics, finance, engineering, maths, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 5-7 years of experience.
• Relevant oil experience including fuel oil and crude.
• Strong understanding of physical oil markets, supply-demand fundamentals, and derivatives.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Excel.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and commercial judgement.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Must be based in Geneva or Zug.

Aufgaben

• Build and maintain oil supply-and-demand balances.
• Analyse refinery runs, inventories, vessel movements, arbitrage economics, weather, power demand, and macro drivers.
• Develop trade views across cracks, time spreads, geographical spreads, crude spreads, and flat price.
• Build and enhance Python, SQL, and Excel models, dashboards, and trading signals.
• Monitor P&L, positions, exposures, and daily risk.
• Produce concise market commentary and communicate trade ideas clearly.
