Position : Ocean Recruiter (Remote – South East Asia)

  • Location : Remote (based in South East Asia)
  • Reports to : Senior Manager Recruiting
  • Travel Requirement : Approximately 50 - 60% (regional and international)

Role Overview :

As a Recruiter, you will be responsible for ensuring a consistent and high-quality pipeline of candidates for all vessel-based positions. You will lead the recruitment process from strategy to execution, including assessment centers, interviews, and agency coordination. This role requires strong collaboration with internal departments and external partners to uphold Viking Cruises’ reputation as an Employer of Choice in the cruise industry.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Recruitment Strategy & ExecutionVerify recruiting profiles and selection criteria with all relevant departments.Regularly update recruiting requirements based on operational needs and HR policies.Conduct personal and video interviews for onboard crew and officers.Organize and execute assessment centers, including location planning, agency coordination, screening, interviewing, and reporting.Efficiently manage crewing requests using best practices to meet deadlines.
  • Candidate & Data ManagementManage and update the application pool database.Supervise and maintain control over the candidate resource pool.Ensure accurate and timely reporting of recruitment status and key metrics.
  • Agency & Market EngagementMaintain strong, trusted relationships with high-quality recruiting agencies in all relevant markets.Participate in global recruiting events with partner agencies, adhering to SOPs and company standards.Research competitor practices, visa requirements, and industry trends for benchmarking.
  • Employer Branding & Process OptimizationSupport initiatives to strengthen employer branding in collaboration with recruiting marketing.Follow and continuously improve defined recruiting processes to ensure efficiency and budget compliance.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience on an ocean vessel in an upscale cruise line, within a management role, in the Culinary Department, is preferred
  • Good understanding of individual positions over all departments is required
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, additional languages are a plus
  • Excellent computer knowledge (Office, SuccessFactors), administrative experience
  • Excellent organizational and interaction skills
  • Ability to work independently, committed and crew focused
