We are seeking an Ocean Freight Specialist to manage end-to-end ocean and rail shipments, ensuring timely execution, accurate documentation, and exceptional customer service. This role requires proactive coordination, system accuracy, and effective communication to support seamless logistics operations.
These are your key tasks:
- Execute correctly the operational and customer service activities for Ocean Freight and Rail shipments according to the instructions and guidelines of the company
- Organize and manage ocean freight and rail transportation for export and crosstrade FCL and LCL shipments. Establishing the necessary transportation documents. Controlling transportation flow and provide “track&trace” services for the customer. Take proactive actions in case of any delay / irregularity
- Capture all necessary data in our ERP System, follow up shipments and provide feedback to the customer
- Establish quotations and invoices
- Provide a “top in class” customer service to our internal and external customers
- Successful 2nd level education (“Sekundarschule” or equivalent)
- Diploma as “Speditionsfachmann/ - Fachfrau” or equivalent in logistics / transportation industry
- Any additional professional training in the field of transport logistics and/or commercial activities are desirable
- Minimum 3 years experience in freight logistics operations and customer service
- Experience in sales, marketing as we as experience in rail transport and/or international trucking are desirable
- Know-how of CargoWise or similar ERP operating system
- Good Know-how level in XLS, Powerpoint, Word applications
- Fluent in German and English, both in oral and written. Additional languages for example French and/or Italian are desirable
- Open and very good communication skills as well as an impeccable customer service attitude
