Job summary

Arbeitnow is seeking a customer-focused Ocean Freight Customer Service Specialist to join our logistics team in a fast-growing global environment. You will act as the main contact for bookings, allocations, and shipment updates, while coordinating with procurement, carriers, and finance to resolve issues and ensure service excellence.

The role requires 3+ years in ocean freight or related fields, fluency in German and English, and experience with CRM tools like Salesforce or Zendesk.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in ocean freight, freight forwarding, logistics, or customer service.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Administration, Logistics, International Trade, or related field.
• Strong understanding of ocean freight operations, shipping documentation, carrier tariffs, and Incoterms.
• Native-level German and fluent English communication skills.
• Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Zendesk.

Responsibilities

• Serve as main point of contact for bookings, allocations, contract terms, and shipment updates.
• Manage day-to-day freight allocation requests and coordinate capacity with procurement.
• Provide timely information on shipment status and schedule changes.
• Maintain accurate customer records and case documentation in CRM.
• Handle disputes related to freight rates, surcharges, contracts, and service issues.
• Review and prepare customer invoices ensuring billing accuracy.
• Coordinate with carriers, operations, procurement, and finance to resolve issues.
• Monitor allocation utilization and communicate capacity constraints or opportunities.
• Track and close customer cases within SLA targets.
• Contribute to customer service reporting and process improvements.
• Support maintenance of customer service procedures and best practices.
• Escalate complex matters while ensuring a top-notch customer experience.
