Zusammenfassung

ETH Zurich is seeking a hands-on Nanofabrication R&D Engineer to join the BRNC operations team. You will develop and improve fabrication processes, own select equipment, and support safe introduction of new materials and approaches.

Responsibilities include process development, troubleshooting, user training, and maintenance of digital workflows, contributing to a safe and efficient nanofabrication environment.

Qualifikationen

  • University degree in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, nanotechnology, microengineering, or related field.
  • At least 5 years hands-on experience in nanofabrication, semiconductor processing, wet chemistry, and vacuum-based techniques.
  • Experience with safety, chemicals, and contamination risk management is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with IT tools, process databases, and digital workflows.

Aufgaben

  • Design, develop, optimize, and document nanofabrication processes.
  • Take ownership of selected cleanroom systems including deposition, characterization, and wet-processing.
  • Ensure safety compliance and maintain safety protocols for chemicals, gases, and equipment.
  • Train researchers on tool usage, process development, and optimization; contribute to seminars and tours.
  • Maintain manuals and records; drive digital workflows and data management.
  • Stay up to date with nanofabrication trends and collaborate to improve facility reliability.
