Job summary

UBS Card Center AG, headquartered in Glattbrugg, seeks a middleware DevOps engineer to operate and optimize platforms for core applications. You will design and implement standardized DevOps processes, collaborate with application developers, and automate tasks to enhance reliability and efficiency.

The role requires 3–5 years in middleware operations, strong Linux/Unix skills, and experience with CI/CD and GitOps.

Qualifications

Degree in (business) informatics, computer science or similar field, ideally with middleware/DevOps training.
3–5 years in operating and engineering middleware platforms (Open Liberty, IBM WAS/BAW, Tomcat, Node.js) in production.
Experience with release/deployment processes and CI/CD concepts; knowledge of GitOps.
Strong Linux/Unix, networking and virtualization skills; basic containers/cloud knowledge; good English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

Operate, configure and optimize middleware platforms for business-critical apps.
Design and maintain standardized DevOps processes for platform lifecycle and app support.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate/apply apps on middleware platforms.
Troubleshoot middleware, performance and integration issues in test/production.
Automate recurring tasks with scripting, templates and IaC to improve stability.
Contribute to modernization of middleware landscape with security and compliance.
