Job summary

Randstad Switzerland is seeking a Principal Design Researcher and Service Designer for a global Medical Diagnostics client. You will lead design research across large cross-chapters, shaping customer-centric strategies and delivering key design decisions.

You bring 5-10 years in MedTech or regulated environments, strong leadership, and exceptional workshop facilitation. This temporary contract offers home office flexibility with standard working hours and a January 2027 start date.

Qualifications

• Must have in-depth knowledge in Design Research and broad knowledge of Product Design and Service Design.
• Ability to orchestrate research activity across multiple projects.
• Proven track record in creating experience strategy from customer insights.
• Experience guiding junior designers on healthcare solutions and regulations.
• Minimum 5-10 years of MedTech or regulated environments.
• Strong presentation skills and ability to drive discussions with clients.

Responsibilities

• Leads design research teams in large/global cross-chapters projects.
• Translates business objectives and customer needs into design decisions via design thinking.
• Produces deliverables and leads client conversations within the discipline.
• Analyzes design challenges from multiple perspectives and translates into actionable workstreams.
• Coaches cross-chapter designers on methodologies and best practices.
• Leads design practice discussions and contributes to team culture and rituals.
• Communicates project value to internal clients and stakeholders.
