Zusammenfassung

CERN in Geneva invites a skilled mechanical technician to join an R&D program focused on high-temperature superconducting magnets. You will assemble coils, models and tooling, manufacture and modify mechanical parts, and contribute to design, manufacture and assembly of superconducting components.

You will produce CAD drawings from 3D models, manage stocks, prepare QA documentation, and follow procedures and traceability. CATIA experience is an asset and the role is onsite with 40 hours per week.

Qualifikationen

  • Hands-on experience in the mechanical manufacturing and assembly of electromechanical equipment.
  • Experience preparing and using quality documentation (procedures, test and measurement reports, and component traceability).
  • Experience reading mechanical drawings with ISO GPS dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Experience with superconducting systems is an asset.
  • Experience using mechanical CAD tools; CATIA experience is preferred.

Aufgaben

  • Produce high-temperature superconductor-based magnet coils.
  • Assemble superconducting magnet models, prototypes and associated manufacturing tools.
  • Manufacture and modify mechanical parts using conventional machining techniques (milling, turning, forming).
  • Manage component stocks for assigned assemblies; initiate and follow up manufacturing requests and purchase orders; perform acceptance tests.
  • Prepare production and quality-control documentation (procedures, test and measurement reports, traceability).
  • Produce CAD drawings of components and tooling from 3D models.
