Zusammenfassung

CERN is seeking engineers to develop and implement electromechanical systems for high-temperature superconducting magnets. You will work on coil winding, assembly, instrumentation and tooling as part of an ongoing R&D programme. The role combines mechanical, electrical and control engineering to advance magnet technology.

The project focuses on HTS coils for next-generation CERN magnets, offering a challenging environment within a world-renowned research infrastructure in Geneva, Switzerland.

Aufgaben

  • Design and implement dedicated HTS coil production systems, considering mechanical, electrical and control aspects.
  • Design and implement coil winding and assembly, instrumentation and tooling for HTS magnets.

Jobbeschreibung

At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature.

Introduction

High-temperature superconducting materials have interesting characteristics that make them suitable for future magnet applications. Come join CERN and take part in this exciting development.

You will develop and implement electromechanical systems for the manufacture and assembly of high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnets, as part of an ongoing research and development (R&D) programme. Your work will involve coil winding and assembly, instrumentation and tooling, bringing together mechanical, electrical and control technologies.
