CERN in Geneva, Switzerland invites a mechanical technician to join an R&D programme focused on high-temperature superconducting magnets. You will assemble models, prototypes and associated equipment within the project.

Your responsibilities include producing magnet coils, assembling tooling and prototypes, machining parts, managing component stocks, and preparing production and quality-control documentation. You will create CAD drawings from 3D models and contribute to design iterations.

Aufgaben

• Produce high-temperature superconductor-based magnet coils.
• Assemble superconducting magnet models, prototypes and associated manufacturing tools.
• Manufacture and modify mechanical parts using conventional machining techniques, such as milling, turning and forming.
• Manage component stocks for assigned assemblies, initiate and follow up manufacturing requests and purchase orders, and perform acceptance tests.
• Prepare production and quality-control documentation, including procedures, test and measurement reports and component traceability.
• Produce computer-aided design (CAD) drawings of components and tooling, starting from 3D models.
