Job summary

Big Science Sweden is seeking a mechanical technician based in Geneva, Switzerland, to contribute to the test facility for superconducting magnets. Responsibilities include preparing mechanical drawings, supporting connections of magnets to test benches, and following up on production. Job description

As a mechanical technician you will contribute to the test facility for superconducting magnets with a focus on preparation and connection of superconducting magnets to their test bench. You will prepare mechanical drawings for bench modification, support in-field connection of magnets to test benches and follow up production in the workshop or through procurement.

• You are a national of aCERN Member State or Associate Member State . Currently, we cannot consider applications from Pakistani and Lithuanian nationals for positions with a 2026 start date, as the ceiling defined under Article II.5 of the Associate Membership Agreement has been reached.
• By the application deadline, you have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in a technical or administrative field and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma or a shorter non-university degree. You can’t hold a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD.
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
