CERN is seeking a Mechanical Technician for the Geodetic Metrology Group to support the FRAS system, aligning accelerator components with micrometric precision using high-precision sensors and actuators. Your main focus will be the Full Remote Alignment System (FRAS), which uses a network of high-precision sensors and electromechanical actuators to monitor and remotely adjust accelerator components with micrometric precision.
As a Mechanical Technician in the High Precision Alignment Technologies Section, you will contribute to the procurement, assembly, testing, installation and commissioning of FRAS mechanical and electromechanical components.
Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
Working hours: 40 hours per week
