Mechanical (Structural) Analysis Engineer – Zurich (Contract / Contract to Perm)

My client, a market leader in the Space Sector are looking to recruit a Mechanical Analysis Engineer (Structural) to join their expanding team. The role can be filled as a Permanent Employee, Contract to Perm or Contract - but work is to be performed fulltime onsite.

The role itself can be described as follows.

Your Profile:

  • Experience in mechanical engineering in industry, with a focus on Space applications.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., NASTRAN, Simcenter) and familiarity with CAD software (e.g., NX CAD).
  • Experience with spacecraft technical systems, including structural / thermal / optical / electronic components and mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with Space industry standards and guidelines, such as NASA, ESA, or commercial Space standards
  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • Additional assets: knowledge of ESATAN-TMS (or other thermal analysis tools) and MS Project

Role / Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical and thermal design of satellite opto-mechanical and opto-electronics equipment from concept stage through to detailed design and analysis phase up to manufacturing files generation, with particular focus on compliance to mechanical and thermal requirements.
  • Perform structural analyses.
  • Support mechanical testing (e.g. vibration testing) of space equipment.
  • Evaluate test results and correlate the corresponding models.
