Job summary

Coopers Group in Visp, Switzerland, seeks a Materials Planner to convert planned orders into actionable material plans, create and manage material requirements, and ensure production readiness. You will maintain planning parameters across systems and coordinate with Procurement to secure material availability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in material planning and manufacturing supply chain.
• MRP expertise and hands-on planning.
• PO management, supplier expediting and shortage resolution.
• Knowledge of inventory methods: ABC, EOQ, reorder-point planning, safety stock.
• Experience with ERP and BOM management; familiarity with SAP/ERP systems.
• Monitoring supplier performance via scorecards and on-time-delivery metrics.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, Power Query); familiarity with Power BI or SQL is advantageous.
• English proficiency; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Convert planned orders into material plans and manage material requirements parameters.
• Liaise with Supply Planners and Schedulers to keep plans up to date.
• Create and maintain material-planning parameters in planning systems.
• Convert material requirements into purchase orders; expedite material availability with Procurement.
• Support inventory management, safety stock and KPIs to ensure reliable material availability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop safety-stock and inventory plans aligned with production needs.
• Track material availability, testing and release for production; resolve shortages.
• Support BOM management, work-order execution and New Product Introductions.
