Center for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth (CSP) - Foundation

Managing Director (all genders)

Starting immediately in Zurich, full-time (42 hours/week)

A world where private wealth is a force for preserving and improving life for all—guided by evidence, collaboration, and a deep commitment to real-world impact. That’s the world CSP is working toward. Science. Practice. Action.

Initiated in 2015 by Dr. Falko Paetzold with the first Impact Investing for the Next Generation (IING) training at Harvard Kennedy School, CSP has grown into a global platform spanning the Americas (with MIT Sloan and Stanford PACS), Asia-Pacific (Singapore), and EMEA (CSP Foundation in Zurich and academic home at the University of St. Gallen [HSG]).

More recently, in 2025, the CSP Foundation (CSPF) was established in Zurich as the umbrella entity for CSP globally, running key programs as well as global shared services. As CSP is evolving beyond its founder-led model, we are looking for a Managing Director to lead CSPF day-to-day, while our founder continues to bring the vision and networks.

CSPF is looking for a dynamic and experienced Managing Director to lead the Foundation through its next stage of growth. You will drive the overall leadership of CSPF, working closely with the Deputy Managing Director, the founder, the CSPF Board, and in close coordination with the Managing Directors of the other CSP entities—a local team of currently 8 and a global team of 25 people.

Your Responsibilities

As Managing Director of CSPF, you make sure our programs reach the right people and our resources keep growing—in practice, this means:

  • You translate CSPF’s board-adopted strategy into concrete priorities and measurable progress against shared global CSP KPIs, together with the global Managing Director team.
  • You’re responsible for our core programs, the Next Gen and Family Office programs. You make sure that qualified ultra-high-net-worth participants and family offices are in the room, not just that the curriculum looks good on paper.
  • You own CSPF’s fundraising strategy and execution—identifying, cultivating, and stewarding relationships with donors, funders, and philanthropic partners to secure and grow the Foundation’s resource base.
  • You nurture CSP’s global alumni community of roughly 300 wealth holders and the broader network of researchers, educators, and entrepreneurs in support of CSP’s flywheel of research, training, and engagement.
  • You build CSP’s external presence and relationships with academic institutions (HSG, MIT Sloan, Stanford PACS), industry leaders, and ecosystem actors (Toniic, The ImPact, FBN, YIO)—and represent CSP’s research and training in public settings to move the right knowledge to the right people at the right moment.
  • You collaborate closely with the Deputy Managing Director and other leaders across the CSP network, as well as with the joint Board, while leading and developing the local team and fostering a high-performing, mission-driven team culture.
Your Profile

Our profile description includes a wide range of competencies we consider relevant for this position. You don’t need to tick all of the following boxes. A determined mind driven to learn will take you very far:

  • You bring several years of experience building or running a high-performing social business, driving top-notch processes and business development.
  • You bring experience in or have led progressive fundraising, including personally securing major gifts from prospect research through stewardship.
  • You have experience shaping organizational or programmatic strategy, ideally across multiple entities or geographies.
  • You have a talent for building relationships and communicating clearly, which gives you the credibility to represent CSP to donors, academic partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Ideally, you bring an existing network in sustainable finance, impact investing, or philanthropy, with an understanding of family offices, UHNW investing, and philanthropic decision-making.
  • You have an understanding of the challenges and opportunities in impact investing for wealth holders, or the willingness to develop one. Most importantly, you are committed to our mission of systems change and impact.
  • You are a strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities—you take ownership and follow things through—and are comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-moving, growing organization.
  • You lead in a trustworthy way and have the ability to build consensus among different stakeholders.
  • You are based in or around Zurich, or genuinely ready to relocate with permission to work in Switzerland, and willing to travel internationally.
  • You are fluent in English, and German is a strong advantage.
What We Offer
  • A catalytic role at the nexus of private wealth and impact-investing science and practice, uniquely and deeply embedded in a global community of top-notch impact-minded academics (e.g., MIT, Stanford, HSG), practitioners (e.g., UBS, Julius Bär, Cape Capital), investors (UHNWIs and their families), and the wider global CSP network.
  • A shared leadership role with a Deputy Managing Director, allowing you to focus your energy on external growth and strategy rather than day-to-day internal operations.
  • A permanent employment contract with an annual salary of CHF 150,000 plus a possible bonus, providing stability for sound long-term personal planning.
  • The flexibility to organize your work with the option to work from home, flexible hours, and an office in Zurich.
  • A standard benefits package in line with that offered in the wider Swiss NGO/foundation space, including generous pension contributions, insurance coverage, and vacation entitlement.
  • Professional development opportunities and team culture initiatives within CSPF, including an Annual Personal Development Budget.
  • Being part of a results-oriented, entrepreneurial, pragmatic, science-based, and fast-moving team that is highly qualified and deeply driven to advance sustainable development—and that can report substantial success.

CSP Foundation is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives who are passionate about sustainable finance and advancing our mission.
