Randstad NV in Zurich seeks an Accounting Manager (Team Lead AR/AP) to drive operational excellence in a fast-paced international environment. You will lead a 5–7 person team handling AR, AP and collections, while owning the GL for Swiss entities and ensuring accurate closings.

In this role, you act as a deputy to the Head of Accounting, transform processes, and ensure IFRS and Swiss GAAP compliance. German/ French skills are a plus, English is essential.

Competenze

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance or Accounting required or equivalent.
• Swiss Fachausweis or CPA highly preferred.
• Proven track record managing teams in transactional finance.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss GAAP and CO/OR framework.
• Experience with modern ERP systems, especially Workday.

Accounting Manager (Team Lead AR/AP) (m/w/d)

The Opportunity

We are seeking an operationally-minded Accounting Manager to lead our transactional finance team. This is a pivotal role for a professional who thrives on creating structure and driving operational excellence within a fast-paced international environment.

As a specialist in process optimization, you will not only manage the day-to-day accounting activities but also act as an architect for financial frameworks that ensure precision and scalability.

You will be a key partner to the finance leadership, ensuring that our accounting "engine" runs with maximum efficiency.

Core Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Direct and manage a team of 5-7 accountants focused on Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Collections. Your goal is to establish high standards of performance and implement robust operational KPIs.
• Financial Reporting & GL: Take full ownership of the General Ledger (GL) for specific Swiss entities, ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closings in accordance with Swiss standards.
• Strategic Deputization: Serve as the primary backup for the Head of Accounting, providing high-level support on technical accounting matters and operational decisions.
• Process Transformation: Continuously evaluate and improve existing accounting workflows. You will play a leading role in enhancing efficiency and preparing the team for future collaboration with international shared service centers.
• Responsibility for financial statements prepared under accounting standards as IFRS and Swiss GAAP.
• Audit Management: Primary point of contact and coordination for external statutory auditors and internal auditors.

Your Professional Profile

• Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance or Accounting. A Swiss Federal Diploma in Finance and Accountancy (Fachausweis), CPA or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Experience: A solid professional background with a clear history of career development in permanent roles. You should have a proven track record of managing teams within a transactional finance environment.
• Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of Swiss GAAP and the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR).
• Systems & Mindset: Highly proficient in modern ERP systems (experience with Workday is a significant advantage). You possess a mindset focused on continuous improvement and the automation of manual processes.
• Communication: Fluent English is essential for this international scope. Professional proficiency in German and/or French is a strong asset.
