Qualifikationen

Aufgaben

• Vertrauenswürdiger Business-Partner des Local Division Managers und des Management Teams, Mitwirkung an Strategie und nachhaltigem Wachstum.
• Verantwortung für Forecasting, Budgeting und Finanzplanung der Schweizer Local Division gemäß ABB-Standards.
• Transparente, genaue Berichterstattung für ein Geschäft von ca. USD 400 Mio., proaktive Einblicke und Szenarienanalysen zur Unterstützung von Entscheidungen.
• Überwachung und Optimierung wichtiger Kennzahlen wie Aufträge, Revenues, Kosten, Margen, Inventar, Cashflow und Working Capital über alle vier Traction-Geschäftslinien.
• Durchführung von Projekten, Tender-Review, Investitionsbewertung und Business-Case-Prozesse zur Profitabilität.
• Sicherstellung der Einhaltung interner Kontrollen und US-GAAP, Zusammenarbeit mit lokalen Divisionen.
• Förderung von Verbesserungen, Digitalisierung, Standardisierung und Change Initiativen in Controlling-Prozessen.
• Aufbau, Entwicklung und Unterstützung der lokalen Controlling-Organisation und Beitrag zum Global Division Controlling.

As part of our strategic growth agenda, we are hiring a newLocal Division Controller Switzerland for our ABB Motion Traction Division.

In this role, you will lead the finance and controlling agenda for a USD 400 million business. As a key leadership andbusiness partner to the Local Division Manager and Management Team, you will also contribute to the global Division Controlling organization. You will own the local division's financial performance, lead the controlling team, and strengthen transparency, operational excellence, and continuous improvement to support sustainable, profitable growth.

This role is based in Switzerland, and the work model is hybrid #LIhybrid.

This role reports to our Global Division Controller, Motion Traction.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted business partner to the Local Division Manager and Management Team, contributing to strategy definition, execution, and sustainable profitable growth.

• Own and lead forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning for the Swiss Local Division in line with ABB standards and guidelines.

• Ensure transparent, accurate, and reliable financial reporting for a business of approximately USD 400 million, providing proactive insights and scenario analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.

• Monitor and optimize key financial and operational metrics, including orders, revenues, costs, margins, inventory, cash flow, productivity, capital efficiency, and working capital performance across all 4 Traction Business Lines locally.

• Drive robust projects as well as tender review process, investment evaluation, and business case process to support profitable growth and sound decision-making.

• Ensure compliance with ABB internal controls and US GAAP requirements, while fostering strong collaboration across local divisions and stakeholders.

• Drive continuous improvement, digitalization, standardization, and change initiatives across controlling processes, reporting, analytics, and business transformation activities.

• Lead, develop, and support the local controlling organization, while contributing actively to the Global Division Controlling organization through best-practice sharing and global initiatives.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Controlling, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, with strong knowledge of costing, revenue recognition, provisions, risk management, and internal controls.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in business controlling or a related finance function, ideally in a sizeable and complex organization, with a strong understanding of end-to-end financial processes.

• Proven people's leadership experience, with the ability to lead, develop, and empower a controlling team and to influence business partners in a matrix organization.

• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred), reporting tools, and business analytics platforms such as Power BI.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights and recommendations.

• Proactive, results-oriented, and continuous improvement mindset, with the confidence to challenge the status quo and drive change.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the maturity to partner effectively with senior business leaders and cross-functional teams.

• Excellent planning, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

• Fluent English and German, with excellent communication and presentation skills across different organizational levels and multicultural environments.
