Proton Drive Team in Genève is building a native Linux desktop client from scratch for Proton Drive, with cross-platform parity in mind. You will work on a greenfield project, contribute to the SDK and CLI tooling, and collaborate with Windows and Mac engineers.

The role focuses on Linux desktop development (GTK+/Qt), Rust (nice to have), and open-source packaging across distros. You will own the end-to-end SDLC and delivery.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of experience in software development of Linux-based desktop client software, GUI and CLI.
• Applied best practices in code quality paradigms.
• Experience with DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Git workflows: reviews, branching, merging.
• Open-source Linux development, distribution and packaging across distros.

Aufgaben

• Own the design and implementation of the Proton Drive Linux desktop client, built greenfield from the ground up.
• Ensure the codebase meets production open-source standards and is readable by external developers.
• Integrate deeply with Linux system components, including the filesystem layer for synchronization.
• Contribute to the platform-agnostic SDK and CLI tooling for Linux exposure.
• Build and maintain cross-client tests in collaboration with Windows and Mac engineers.
• Define and implement application telemetry for performance and debugging.
• Own the build pipelines, packaging, and distribution across major Linux distros.
