Job Description

As Legal Counsel, you will play a central role in supporting the institution's legal and compliance activities. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure legal soundness and operational efficiency across a wide range of matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel on legal and compliance issues across the organization.
  • Lead the development and implementation of standardized legal templates and processes, particularly in relation to supplier onboarding and contract lifecycle management.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad spectrum of commercial agreements, including:
    • Sales and procurement contracts
    • Research and academic collaboration agreements
    • Sponsorship and philanthropic contribution agreements
    • Consultancy and guest speaker contracts
  • Prepare clear, concise legal documentation, internal policies, and guidance notes.
  • Design and deliver legal and compliance training sessions for internal teams.
  • Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of institutional matters.

The Successful Applicant

Your Profile:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in law obtained in Switzerland, or a minimum of 5 years of professional legal experience within the Swiss market.
  • Admission to the Swiss Bar or an equivalent European legal qualification with strong Swiss law experience is a plus.
  • 5-10 years of relevant legal experience, including substantial exposure to commercial law; in-house experience is preferred, though law firm experience will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple jurisdictions and managing international legal matters.
  • Familiarity with procurement and contract management processes is an advantage.

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential; proficiency in French is a strong asset. Additional languages are a plus.
