Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Hands-on embedded development experience across firmware and hardware domains.
• Strong understanding of hardware design and PCB layouts; able to review decisions with hardware teams.
• Expertise in embedded firmware for microcontrollers (ARM Cortex/ESP32/STM32).
• Experience with sensors and wireless tech (BLE/WiFi).
• Embedded Linux / Yocto experience is a plus in MCU+SOC environments.
• Fluent in German and English; cross-language communication required.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of embedded system development for IoT products, focusing on firmware and hardware integration.
• Design and implement robust embedded software for MCU platforms and Linux-based systems as needed.
• Guide hardware development with external partners; review PCB designs for quality and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and cloud teams for end-to-end system integration.
• Define product requirements from concept to mass production with internal/external stakeholders.
• Develop prototypes and support transition to serial production with manufacturing partners.
• Evolve embedded platform with MCU and optional Linux/Yocto components.
• Create practical testing strategies for hardware and firmware reliability and quality.
• Support partners with debugging, documentation, and production ramp-up.
• Provide Level 3 technical support for complex system, firmware, and hardware issues.
• Travel 5–10% for partner support, validation, and product launches.
