Hitachi Energy's Central European Research Center in Baden-Dättwil invites applications for a six‑month internship in the Semiconductor Packaging and Reliability Engineering team. You will contribute to the reliability of HVDC stations and work with a multidisciplinary group to apply statistical modeling and reliability methods.

The opportunity

Join our Semiconductor Packaging and Reliability Engineering team at the Central European Hitachi Energy Research Center in Baden-Dättwil. You'll contribute to a project focused on the reliability of HVDC stations, a key technology for long-distance, sustainable energy transmission. In this internship, you'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team, gaining hands-on experience in statistical modeling and reliability engineering. How You'll Make An Impact

• Assist in researching and developing the reliability profile of HVDC station on the component level
• Assist in developing and applying novel statistical and mathematical models for reliability analysis
• Developing and implementing stochastic reliability models for components in HVDC stations
• Documenting and communicating the solutions developed to ensure knowledge transfer within the research team, academic cooperation partners and relevant business areas

Your background

• Currently pursuing a M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering, power engineering, physics, applied mathematics, mechanical engineering or a related discipline (official enrolment is essential)
• Understanding fundamental concepts in statistics and probability
• Familiarity with reliability engineering and related concepts
• Programing skills for data analysis and machine learning are a plus
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Good communication and cooperation skills, creativity and the ability to work independently
