Job summary

Hexagon Geosystems, a global leader in measurement technologies, seeks a GNSS Engineering & Product Testing Intern in Heerbrugg for a 6-month, full-time internship. You will support the testing and improvement of high-precision GNSS positioning solutions for surveying, evaluate hardware and software, and contribute to product improvements in a collaborative, international environment.

Qualifications

• Test GNSS receivers, software, and positioning workflows in laboratory and real-world scenarios to ensure high-quality standards.
• Support testing and improvement of high-precision GNSS positioning solutions for surveying.
• Evaluate hardware and software, analyse technical issues, and contribute to product improvements.

• Contribute to the development of new GNSS-based surveying products in multidisciplinary project teams
• Support the evaluation and improvement of precise positioning solutions, including RTK, GNSS-INS, and PPP, while learning from cross‑functional experts
• Help analyse and troubleshoot product issues reported by customers and the global support network
• Benchmark competing GNSS equipment and document findings that can inform product improvement priorities

• Test GNSS receivers, software, and positioning workflows in laboratory and real-world scenarios to help ensure Leica Geosystems' high‑quality standards
• Support the creation of product documentation, training materials, and user guidance for our worldwide sales and support network

This is you

• Available for a full‑time internship of 6 months in Heerbrugg
• Currently studying towards, or recently graduated with, a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Geodesy, Photogrammetry, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Initial knowledge of GNSS positioning from coursework, projects, or practical experience is an advantage.
• Exposure to inertial sensors, sensor fusion, or navigation algorithms through coursework or projects is a plus
• Strong communication skills, curiosity, and a proactive, hands‑on mindset
• An interest in understanding customer needs and translating them into practical product improvements
• A structured, solution‑oriented approach to analysing technical and product‑related challenges
• Enjoy collaborating in an international team while also being able to work independently on defined tasks
• Able to turn technical ideas and test results into clearly written documentation
• Fluent in written and spoken English; German language skills are a plus
• Eligible to work in Switzerland for the full duration of the internship
